Healthy sized portions make this a must for a hungry family!One of my go to recipes for days that are super busy! Goes great with a side of vegetables like sauteed yellow squash or steamed broccoli! Ready in less than an hour!
1 roll Jimmy Dean Original Sausage (or substitute turkey meat)
1 – 16 ounce package Penne pasta
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
2 – 24 ounce jars pasta sauce (I use Ragu Garden Style)
2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Boil water for Penne in a large pot, add Penne and cook as instructed on package, until tender then drain and set back inside pot.
While water is boiling, in a large skillet brown sausage and bell peppers and onions until sausage is no longer pink.
Once sausage is browned add the 2 jars of pasta sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
Combine pasta sauce and sausage together in large pot.
Place mixture into 9 x 13 baking dish, top with desired amount of cheese.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until warmed thoroughly. If you like your cheese browned on top, broil an additional 3-5 minutes.
